Ko Young-wook, a convicted pedophile and rapper of the now disbanded “Roo 'Ra,” has not had to carry an electric monitoring anklet since July 9. Ko was found guilty of molesting and raping three minors.

The anklet is mandatory for offenders who sexually abuse children aged 13 years or younger.

The court sentenced Ko to two-and-a-half years behind bars with his criminal record accessible to the public for five years. He was ordered to wear the anklet for three years.

His personal information will be available for until 2020 on the sex offender database website run by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.

Ko started wearing electric the anklet since he was released from prison 10 July 2015.

The monitoring center and parole office can keep a perpetrator under 24-hour surveillance after he or she is released from prison.
