A female model posted photos of a fellow male model posing nude at a Hongik University art class and went viral, police say.
According to the Mapo Police Station Thursday, the woman, identified by her surname Ahn, confessed during questioning, after the photos went viral.
Ahn allegedly told police that the man lay on a table with another model during a break so she asked him to move over. When he refused, the two got into a verbal fight.
Police said Ahn told them she uploaded the photos ― which she had taken secretly ― on Womad, an anti-male website. But when the posting triggered an outcry, she deleted the posting and quit the site.
Police became suspicious when the woman turned in only one of her two mobile phones, claiming the other had been stolen, after police asked possible culprits to submit their phones.
Adding to the suspicion was the victim's testimony about the run-in, before the nude photos were posted, drawing derogatory comments from site members for his physical appearance.
The woman was taken into custody 10 days after the photos were leaked on May 1.
The victim remained secluded, telling associates he was in the state of shock and could not go back to normal life anytime soon.
The woman was booked for illegally leaking photos of a person's body without consent ― which is punishable with a fine of up to 50 million won or a year in jail.
The case became controversial not just because the nude photos were leaked online with no protection identity in a flagrant violation of human rights, but also because the photos were uploaded on Womad, where the model was pilloried and received spiteful comments.
The feminazi site also belittles LGBT people.
