Actress found dead after 'drug party': police

Police are investigating the death of an actress in Seoul on Saturday, which they believe was caused by an overdose of an illegal drug or its side effects.

Gangnam Police Station has questioned seven people -- four men and three women in their 20s and 30s -- who were said to be with the actress when she suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness at a flat in Gangnam, southern Seoul, about 7 p.m.

The witnesses told police the actress showed symptoms of suffocation and soon stopped breathing. They confessed that the incident happened when they were taking drugs, police said. Further details were not known.

“There were no signs of foul play on her body,” an investigator said. “So the investigation is focused on the link between her death and drug consumption.”
