Ryu to head foreign language newspapers association

The Foreign Language Newspapers Association of Korea appointed Ryu Kwon-ha, the Korea JoongAng Daily Executive Editor, as its third chairman Tuesday.
The association said it made the decision during a board meeting.
Ryu has been leading the English daily since 2013. Previously, he was a writer for the JoongAng Ilbo, the Korean language daily and the mother company of the JoongAng Daily where he spent 14 years until 2007.
Between 2003 and 2007, he was the paper’s German correspondent and in July 2017, Ryu left the newsroom to join the paper’s management team.
The association was founded in July 2015 and has four members: The Korea JoongAng Daily, The Korea Times, The Korea Herald and Aju Business Daily’s Chinese edition.
