AMCHAM office moves to Yeouido

The American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM) held an official ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening of its new office located at the International Finance Center (IFC) Building on Yeouido, Seoul, Jan. 6.
The new premises replace the previous office at the Trade Tower in southern Seoul.
The event began with an address from James Kim, chairman of AMCHAM and president of GM Korea, who expressed sincere gratitude for the leadership’s strong and continuous support of the chamber.
“This is a very pivotal moment in AMCHAM’s history. The new office, which remains at the heart of Seoul’s central finance and investment banking district, will function as a center for AMCHAM’s various outreach efforts, while also providing a brand new and convenient venue for its staff and members,” said Kim.
Participants included U.S. Ambassador to Korea and honorary Chairman of AMCHAM Mark Lippert; Jeffrey Jones, chairman of Partners for Future Foundation; Chae Eun-mi, managing director of FedEx Express Korea; and Henry An, senior partner and inbound leader of Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Led by AMCHAM President John Schuldt, the group took part in the ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the new office.
Following the event, the AMCHAM leaders and members, along with CJ Group Chairman Sohn Kyung-shik and Rep. Na Kyung-won of the Saenuri Party joined in an AMCHAM farewell reception for Ambassador Lippert at the Conrad Seoul.
