German Youth Orchestra to Give 6 Performances

The German Youth Orchestra is getting ready to arrive in Korea ahead of a hectic schedule of performances around the country.
Known in German as Jugendorchester Havixbeck, the large symphonic orchestra is regarded as one of the best youth wind ensembles in their homeland.
Six performances are scheduled ― one in Gangneung on Aug. 2, two in Seoul on Aug. 5 and 7, two in Incheon on Aug. 8 and 9, and one in Jinju on Aug. 10 ― ahead of their participation in the International Wind Ensemble Festival on Jeju Island.
Consisting of 52 members aged between 16 and 26, they will then move on to Jeju for a further three shows, one on Aug. 12 and two on Aug. 14.
The orchestra's tour is supported by the Goethe Institute, a cultural institution associated with the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
