Beginning Wednesday, The Korea Times will spell the names of the Korean president as Lee Jae Myung and the first lady as Kim Hea Kyung, in a change from our previous spellings of Lee Jae-myung and Kim Hye-kyung.

This follows a request from the government, which recently decided to use the new spellings for the presidential couple for official government documents and events. — ED.
