Peruvian police have found the body of a South Korean tourist who died after falling from the top of 500-meter waterfall in the Amazon jungle.
News agency AFP said the man fell after looking for a good place to take a self-portrait at the Gocta waterfall, in northeastern Peru, last Wednesday.
"The tourist was found dead, submerged seven meters deep in the lake into which the Gocta waterfall runs," an official, who asked not to be named, told AFP.
Divers and mountain rescue teams were called in to recover the body.
The Korean consulate in Peru sent a consular representative and two employees to aid in the collection of the tourist’s body.
