Disgraced idol claims false accusations

Park Yu-chun, a member of boy band JYJ, who is facing allegation that he raped four women, plans to file a complaint against the four claiming false accusation and attempted blackmail, his management agency said Sunday.
C-JeS Entertainment said Park will file the complaint with the Gangnam Police Station today, saying the women made groundless accusations to defame him.
“We believe the ongoing police investigation into the matter would clear him of all allegations,” the agency said in a statement.
“We will not succumb to the malicious threats made by the women, and Park will fully cooperate with the investigation,” it added.
Police plan to summon Park soon after questioning the alleged victims.
They will collect Park’s DNA through mouth swab samples to determine whether it matches that found on underwear submitted by one of the alleged victims as evidence.
The entertainer with a well-established image of “gentle heartthrob” claimed his innocence and said he would retire if any of the allegations are proven to be true.
