Fatal fire: Gov't bans work on LPG ships at Daewoo Shipbuilding

The Ministry of Employment and Labor has ordered a halt to work on five LPG ships at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, after a fire killed one worker and injured seven, Yonhap reports.

The fire started Tuesday in a tank on an 85,000-ton LPG carrier being built at DSME.

It was the second fire at the shipyard in three months. Two workers were killed and seven injured on Aug. 24.
