Itaewon to host global festival this weekend

An annual street festival will be held in Itaewon, central Seoul, over the weekend.
According to the Yongsan District Office, Tuesday, it will host the Itaewon Global Village Festival on Saturday and Sunday, and the event will be the largest of its kind, held on a total of 935 meters of road in Itaewon and Bogwang. The streets will be closed to vehicular traffic over the weekend.
The highlight of the festival will be the Global Village Parade. About 1,000 people in 30 groups will march from Hangangjin Station to Noksapyeong Station at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
It will also feature a world traditional costume show, an electronic dance music stage, a street taekwondo performance and parades by military bands.
More than 40 booths selling foreign foods, 24 booths for Korean food and 12 for craft beer will also be present.
