A female Ministry of Foreign Affairs employee has been rescued after trying to jump from the ministry’s building in Jongno, Seoul, Thursday.
A cleaner found the officer attempting to jump out of a 17th floor window at 7:30 a.m. and reported it to police and the 119 rescue center, the ministry said.
Security staff persuaded the woman to step down from the window.
The grade-seven employee has been under pressure after she moved to a new department, a ministry official said.
She had especially had a hard time coordinating other departments.
Police and fire authorities are investigating.
