'Water park video' suspect sold footage

The man who plotted the filming of videos of 100 naked women at water park shower rooms allegedly sold the footage to another man.

But both of them claim they intended to keep the footage for themselves and did not distribute them.

Officers at Yongin Dongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province said Friday that the man who orchestrated the filming, surnamed Kang, 33, allegedly sold parts of the videos to an office worker, 34, whom he met through an online chat site, for 1.2 million won ($839) in December.

Under the law, those only buying pornography are not subject to punishment.

Kang earlier admitted to having a woman, Choi, record the shower scenes with a concealed camera in return for 2 million won last summer, but claimed that he kept the footage for himself and dumped the external hard disk drives containing the files about four months ago.

To find out how the videos were released on the Internet, police are investigating about 20 people who relayed the footage on several websites.

Police also referred the case to the prosecution.

Choi allegedly filmed the shower scenes at three water parks and an outdoor swimming pool in Seoul, and Gyeonggi and Gangwon provinces last year.
