MERS cases remain flat; Hong Kong to resume group travel to Korea

Hong Kong has lifted the warning against travel to South Korea, Yonhap reported Saturday.

The report comes as the number of people diagnosed with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in Korea remained unchanged at 186 as of Saturday.

Also, there have been no deaths from MERS in three weeks, according to the Korean government.

Korea almost declared the outbreak over on Tuesday, with plans to announce an official end 28 days after the only remaining patient tests negative.

Korea’s first MERS case broke out on May 20, and led to the isolation of 16,700 people and 36 deaths.
