Police are questioning a teenager over an attempted burglary only a day after he was released for allegedly stealing from a temple.

Police in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, said the teen, 14, had tried to steal money from a restaurant in Namyangju on Monday. The restaurant owner woke and cried for help. Police then nabbed the teen, identified only as “A.”

On July 8, the teen was caught for stealing from a temple in Namyangju, police said. But the arrest warrant was denied on July 26 because he was under age.

Police said they would not seek an arrest warrant for the second offence but expressed concern because the teen was not attending school nor was there any parental protection.
