Five men who took sneak shots of women wearing bikinis at Haeundae Beach in Busan have been caught by a joint squad of police and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MOGEF).

The ministry said the men included a 32-year-old who photographed the women, and a man, 23, who was allegedly soliciting.

Under the law governing sexual crimes of violence, a person who takes sneak shots or video can be sentenced to five years’ jail or fined up to 10 million won. A person who solicits sex can be sentenced to seven years’ jail or fined up to 70 million won.

The ministry said it will conduct an intensive crackdown at beaches nationwide through Aug. 12.
