S. Korea, Palestine FMs set to hold meeting in Seoul

The South Korean foreign minister plans to hold a meeting with his Palestinian counterpart in Seoul this week to discuss the Israel-Palestine conflict and security issues on the Korean Peninsula, the foreign ministry said Thursday.

The meeting between Yun Byung-se and Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad al-Maliki is scheduled for Friday, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The diplomats plan to discuss bilateral relations including cooperation in the development assistance sector as well as security issues concerning the Israel-Palestine relations as well as the peninsula, the ministry said.

The Palestinian minister is in Seoul for a five-day visit till Monday, which includes meetings with Yoo Ki-june, chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs and unification.

Maliki's visit reciprocates Yun's trip to Palestine in December last year, the ministry said. (Yonhap)
