Japanese Mixed Martial Arts fighter Tsukuda Takaya taunted Yoon Hyung-bin, an opponent in an upcoming fight, by calling him gay, sources said Monday.

The controversial comment came from a recently released video showing the Japanese fighter’s training in preparation for the fight. In the video, Takaya mentions he looked up Yoon on the internet.

“All his photos from internet look gay with none of them showing himself in the image of true fighter,” said Takaya, adding he will never lose the fight.

The comedian-turned-MMA fighter, on the other hand, showed his soft spots for Jeong Kyeong-mi, his wife and also one of his comic gig partners.

Yoon said that Jeong, who seemed calm upon the news about his MMA debut, was considerate enough to make him stamina-building meals like duck barbeques and beef-bone soups instead of begging him to forget the fight.

“I told her I will be literally tormented in the cage but I will at the same time be enjoying the moments in my heart,” said Yoon to the sources.

The fighter also told his worried wife that if he wimps about getting hurt during the match he won’t be able to fully expend his energy to the fight.

The sources cited Yoon’s trainers who evaluated that Yoon throws fairly heavy punches and can pummel while distancing well from his opponents.
