Man robs homes for plastic surgery

Police in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province, have requested an arrest warrant for a 27-year-old man suspected of stealing valuables from apartments worth 55 million won ($52,000) to pay for cosmetic surgery to his face.

According to police investigators, the suspect, with the surname Choi, broke down the front doors of residences in the western part of the city to steal the items when people were at work.

He allegedly broke into five apartments in the area since February.

Choi received a facelift operation at a plastic surgery clinic in Seoul on March 10.

Investigators quoted him as saying he used to have an inferiority complex about his bulging upper jaw.
