Amusement park popular in North Korea

An amusement park has become a popular attraction of North Korean residents in Pyongyang.

Free Asia Radio (RAF) based in Washington D.C. has reported that Gaeseon Cheongnyeon (triumphant youth) Park opened in Pyongyang in April last year and has become popular among residents as it was open to generalcitizens.

The radio also reported that tickets in the black market are sold for up to 10 times the regular price due to growing popularity. One ticket is sold 300 won in group but soared to 3,000 won in black market as young couples choose the park as their dating venue. It is very expensive when it is compared with rice priced for 1,850 won a 1kg bag in North Korea.

The park has a gyro drop which drops vertically, a Viking or ship swing and other rides and attractions. The park opens for four hours from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
