By Kim Rahn

Goalkeeper Yoon Ki-won of Incheon United was found dead in his car at a parking lot of a rest stop on the Gyeongbu Expressway near Seocho-dong, southern Seoul, at 11:50 a.m. Friday.

The 24-year-old was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car. A half-burnt briquette was on the passenger seat, according to the parking lot manager who found the body.

An envelope with 1 million won in it was also in the car. No will was found.

From doctors’ view that Yoon is presumed to have died from inhaling toxic fumes from the briquette, police are treating it as a suicide.

Yoon, who joined the team last year after college graduation, has been said to be a promising goalkeeper.
