Pastor gets 9-year prison term for sex with minors
By Kim Rahn
A local court sentenced a 65-year-old pastor to nine years in prison for having sex with minors by abusing his religious authority, Sunday.
It has also made his personal information available online for 10 years and ordered him to take 80 hours of classes on the damage of sexual assault, wear a traceable electronic anklet and not to approach any of his victims.
The pastor at a church in Gyeonggi Province, Kang, forced an 11-year-old girl to have sex with him in the chapel in 2006. He also had sex with two minors on over 13 occasions and sexually harassed several teenage believers.
He took photos of the intercourse and kept them at his home, satisfying his carnal desire while looking at the photos. When the victims didn’t answer his phone calls, Kang sometimes beat them and sent threatening text messages saying he would kill them.
