Woman found dead in jimjilbang

A 62-year-old woman was found dead at a jjimjilbang, a Korean style health spa, in North Chungcheong Province, Saturday.

The manager of the jjimjilbang reported the death of the woman to the police after he found that she wasn’t breathing.

The body of the woman was left for up to two days until the manager checked on her at the request of visitors of the spa who complained that she smelled bad and didn’t move, the police said. The police are now investigating the time and cause of death.

The dead woman, only identified by her surname Kim, made her last call to her daughter at around 6 p.m. on Thursday. She had suffered from diabetes for a long time and recently was being treated for serious symptoms of influenza.
