Sogang University is in turmoil over an irregularity in the election of its student council president.
The students are calling for the nullification of the election of the new leader, citing an unannounced change of election rules. The students are claiming that the election held earlier this month failed to attract 50 percent of the total voters, which is the minimum requirement for a valid election. The election committee lowered the necessary number of voting students to 37 percent.
