Holy Man’s Amazing Feet

A bizarre holy man has been arrested on child torture charges after horrified parents found him stamping on their youngsters' throats to cure them of colds, the Austrian Times reported.

Self-proclaimed demi-god Jamun Yadav, 50, told police his holy Hindu powers allowed him to transfer divine energy from the soles of his feet. He said the amazing feet of magic allowed him to fight all illnesses in Katihar, eastern India.

"This is scandalous and we have arrested him. The parents didn't know just what his treatment involved when they agreed to it," said police spokesman Santosh Singh.

"He claims he needs no defense in court because he speaks for God. So it should be an interesting trial," he added.

이 남성은 자신이 신과 소통하고 있다고 주장하는 등 괴변을 늘어놓고 있어 경찰이 난감해하고 있다.

이 보도에 따르면 자신이 신 내림을 받았다고 주장하고 있는 자문 야다브(50)는 독감에 걸린 아기들의 목과 장딴지를 양발로 눌러 치료한 것으로 알려졌다.

인도 비하르주 카티하르에 사는 야다브는 온몸의 체중을 실어 두발로 아기들의 목을 짓눌렀고, 이를 본 아기 부모들은 아연 질색해 아동학대 혐의로 그를 신고했다. 하지만 그는 신의 치유의 능력이 자신의 발을 통해 전달된다는 궤변을 늘어놓고 있다.

경찰청 산토시 싱 대변인은 ``야다브가 부모들에게 어떤 치료를 하는지 알리지 않고 무턱대고 목숨을 위협하는 시술을 감행했다''고 밝혔다.

야다브는 경찰에 출두해서도 자신은 신과 소통하기 때문에 변호인이 필요 없다고 하는 등 헛소리를 늘어놓고 있는 것으로 알려졌다.
