More Cranes Spend Winter in Suncheon Bay

More cranes are spending their winter in Suncheon Bay, South Jeolla Province, the Ministry of Environment said Sunday. About 400 cranes are expected to be living in the bay by next January, the largest number since the first annual observation was made in 1996.

The bay was designated as a protected wetland and the surrounding area has become a friendlier environment for the birds, the government said.
