Kazakhstan Premier Delays Seoul Visit
Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Masimov has postponed his visit to South Korea due to an overseas tour by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said Thursday.
The prime minister had scheduled a three-day trip to Seoul from this Sunday to discuss ways to boost bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
Masimov and his South Korean counterpart Han Seung-soo agreed to reschedule the visit.
The resource-rich country is located at a key point linking Europe and Asia and became a strategic partner after President Lee Myung-bak's visit to Kazakhstan in May.
The two countries are marking the 17th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year.
