Ex-President Kim Dae-jung to Visit Beijing

Former President Kim Dae-jung will visit Beijing from May 4 to May 8 at the invitation of a Chinese diplomatic society, an aide to Kim said Thursday.
Kim plans to give a lecture at the Beijing University May 6, his press secretary, Choi Kyung-hwan, said.
It will be Kim's fourth special lecture for Beijing University students following those in 1994, 1996 and 1998.
After the lecture, Kim is scheduled to meet with Chinese experts on Korean and Northeast Asian affairs, Choi said.
Kim will also meet Chinese government officials for talks on the stalled six-party denuclearization talks on North Korea's nuclear program and other matters of mutual concern, the secretary said.
The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2000 is the architect of the Sunshine Policy of engaging the communist North.
