Seoul city is publicizing a water sports festival on and around the Han River through the use of mime artists and other pre-event performances at subway stations and other locations around the city.
Taking part in the ``guerrilla performances'' are a group of performers called ``Aqua Men,'' dressed in colorful, eye-catching costumes featuring the images of fish and other wildlife from the Han River.
They will appear at subway stations and perform mimes, martial arts and other acrobatic performances, to promote the water sports festival to be held between Aug. 9-17 at Yeouido, Seonyu Island and Ttukseom Park.
In other pre-event performances, in-line skating ``Fish Men'' will perform wearing fish costumes and a ballerina dubbed River Angel will dance in the air while suspended from a balloon.
During the festival, citizens will be able to enjoy various water sports and events, including a birdman contest featuring participants showing off their own flying devices.
All events are part of ``Hi Seoul Festival.'' For more information about the festival, visit www.hiseoulfest.org.
