Rep. Chung Hyung-keun of the conservative Grand National Party (GNP) said Monday that President Roh Moo-hyun may recommend Kim Woo-joong, founder and former president of Daewoo Group, for the administer's position of an inter-Korean economic enclave during the summit.

Chung said he was told the rumor from sources, and his prediction was made based on facts and intelligence that he has gathered.

``Roh has shown deep interest in the South-North economic cooperation so far,'' he said.

``Accordingly, he is likely to propose that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il work closely together to map out a joint agreement to build an economic community during the talks,'' he said.

The third-term lawmaker said he also sees the possibility of the chiefs of state-funded think tanks such as the Korea Development Institute (KDI) visiting the North for consultations on the joint project after the summit.

Chung said the top priority of inter-Korean economic cooperation will be placed on looking into the creation of a South-North body to oversee general affairs.

The two leaders will also look at possible options for infrastructure building in the North, he said.

``The economic enclave project in Pyongyang is going to be implemented in the near future. And experts are reviewing possible ways to set up a peace zone stretching from the Demilitarized Zone to an industrial and tourism complex off the west coast,'' Chung added.
