The British Embassy in Seoul will no longer accept visa applications at the embassy, but that its new visa application center will start receiving applications beginning Oct. 11, the embassy said Thursday.
In a press release, the embassy said people applying for U.K. visas, including student visas are required to lodge applications through the new center at the Danam Building, formerly known as the Kukje Building, in Jung-gu, Seoul.
All visa applicants, irrespective of nationality, will have to apply in person to the center and have finger-scans and digital photographs taken, it said.
Koreans who are visiting the U.K. for periods of six months or less do not need a visa to visit the U.K. or to supply finger-scans or digital photos, the embassy said. ``The vast majority of Korean visitors to the U.K. will be unaffected.''
The changes are being applied on a global basis, it added.
