35 Democratic Activists Endorse Park Geun-hye

Thirty-five members of a political association of activists who fought for democracy in the 1980s endorsed presidential hopeful Park Geun-hye of the Grand National Party (GNP) in the race for the party nomination primaries.
The members held a press conference Friday at Park's camp in downtown Seoul. The activists said they support Park because she is a clean and ethical leader and seeks the right values political leaders need to possess.
``Democracy has been misinterpreted in this country for years. It is time to correct the wrongfully defined terminology. Park is the perfect fit for the mission,'' they said in a statement released at the press conference.
The thirty-five members include former National Assembly members Park Hee-bu and Cho Ik-hyun.
