Raw food diet
Dear editor,
I'm writing in response to a July 11 article, “Some like it raw,” which introduced some elements of the raw food diet and focused on the Korean raw food chef and advocate Jeon Ju-ri.
I was very thankful for your article and so pleased to learn that there is a growing interest in raw food in Korea. I, like Ju-ri, can attest to the benefits of the raw food diet.
Although I did not come to the raw food diet to combat illness, I found that eating raw food improves my concentration, energy levels and especially my mind and way of thinking.
It is true that living food produces living people and I truly feel that the food I am eating now has brought me back to life. I am grateful that The Korean Times has a section of the paper devoted to health news and equally grateful that you are publishing articles that show the positive effects of eating raw food.
It is also encouraging that there are raw food advocates in Korea as well as information on how to get involved. I look forward to reading more from The Korean Times’ health section in the future, particularly on the subject of raw food nutrition and health.
