Contaminating Women
Dear editor,
Carl Djerassi, father of the contraceptive pill, has regretted his invention and has blamed it for the demographic catastrophe and the terrible imbalance of the present population.
He also regrets the lack of connection between sexuality and reproduction ``young people are committing a national suicide when they refuse to reproduce.''
Forty years earlier, however, the Vatican (Humanae Vitae Encyclical ) had already warned that the pill would cause a dramatic fall in births and condemned the pill as an aggression against human love and God's intentions, considering it a mortal sin.
We also know nowadays that the formulation of contraceptives has an abortive effect as it expels the recently conceived embryo, this is known as the embryo loss rate.
As well, the tons of hormones which are conveyed through the pill users' urine to the water have a devastating ecological effect. There is data proving that one of the causes for Western men's infertility is the environmental contamination caused by its components.
