Korean co-working space Heyground won the 2018 iF Design Award for corporate identity and branding in communication design, the company said Monday.

The iF Design Award of Germany is one of the three major design awards in the world along with IDEA and the Red Dot Award.

Heyground is a co-working space brand owned and run by local social enterprise Root Impact. It won the design award with "flexible user identity" on its logo and space branding. The brand aims to grow, build value and leap as a "change maker" while raising awareness about the social sectors.

The iF Design Award is a design competition organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH since 1953. This year, 6,402 entries from 2,955 participants from 54 countries competed from Jan. 23 to 25. Of them, 1,218 participants were recognized with the iF Design Award 2018 while 75 entries received the special iF gold award. The award ceremony will take place this Friday in Munich.

Meanwhile, Heyground's mother company Root Impact signed an MOU on Feb. 27 with global house-sharing platform Airbnb to support social ventures and non-profit organizations. Airbnb will provide accommodation and mentoring to social entrepreneurs who are participants of Root Impact's programs. Root Impact is a social enterprise established in 2012 to support social entrepreneurs working to make positive social impact.
