Delvaux and Karl Lagerfeld make the most-coveted bags in Korea.

According to Hyundai Department Store, the two brands have become the "it" buy of the season despite high prices.

Delvaux is the oldest fine-leather luxury goods company, founded in 1829 in Brussels. Popular designs include "Brilliant" and "Madame," and prices range from some 3 million won to 30 million won.

Average monthly sales have reached 600 million won, the department store chain said.

Lagerfeld is a German fashion designer and head designer and creative director of French fashion house Chanel and Italian house Fendi. His bags sell for about 1 million won.

The designer launched his own label in 1984 and boasts the world’s most prestigious stockists, including London’s Harrods and Paris’ Galeries Lafayette. Korea is the second Asian country to introduce the brand after China. It was launched in May.

The store said sales of Lagerfeld bags were 20 percent higher than expected.
