13 Marriott properties offer unique chance to enjoy overseas destinations
As people around the world have been confined to their own countries for almost a year amid the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, Marriott International properties have come together to offer a unique opportunity, launching a promotion offering guests in each country the chance to experience the cultures of neighboring regions.
As Thailand has been a popular destination for Korean travelers, the JW Marriott Hotel Seoul has been transformed into the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa, offering guests an unprecedented opportunity to relive the pleasures of Thailand in the heart of the Korean capital.
The JW Marriott Hotel Seoul's “Enjoy Khao Lak in Seoul” promotion is a campaign bringing the healing benefits and pleasures of the hotel's new namesake resort for two months from Nov. 1.
Upon arrival, guests will be greeted by associates dressed in traditional Thai clothing, offering greetings in Thai.
Those choosing accommodation packages during the promotion will enjoy an immersive Thai experience. Each stay will begin with a Thai-style snack and beer set served in a Thai design-themed guest room, while guests are also offered an exclusive gift of aroma mist and hand cream by Sabai-arom, the wellness brand based on natural ingredients sourced from fruit, flowers and plants from across Thailand.
In addition, the hotel will offer small private yoga classes, inspired by early morning yoga experiences among Thailand's natural environment.
Buffet dining destination Flavors, located on the second floor of the hotel, will serve a Thai-style buffet throughout November.
For the duration of the promotion only, families with children will be offered complimentary illustrated maps of Thailand and sets comprising crayons and coloring paper featuring diverse Thai animals.
Meanwhile, a social media competition will bring the chance to win prizes including accommodation vouchers for use at the JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa.
JW Marriott Hotel Seoul General Manager Allen Howden expressed hope that the campaign will offer a refreshing escape for those worn down by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, the JW Marriott Jakarta has been transformed into JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, bringing Korea to the capital of Indonesia, where flourishing business ties have created positive bonds between the two nations.
A total of 13 Marriott International-affiliated destinations worldwide are taking part in the innovative trans-national promotion, with high-profile examples including the transformation of The St. Regis Singapore into The St. Regis Bangkok, and Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur into Paris's Le Meridien Etoile.
The temporary metamorphoses offer guests at each destination an immersive regional experience, featuring signature elements including guest room decor and dining.
