Millennium Hilton Seoul's Il Ponte unveils new menu
Millennium Hilton Seoul's popular Italian trattoria Il Ponte has unveiled its new menu. Long-acclaimed for its authentic Italian pizzas and homemade pastas, Il Ponte has added tempting new ones to its culinary repertoire starting from March 2.
The new items will include a signature pasta of Il Ponte, which will feature handmade pasta.
Il Ponte will continue to make its authentic Italian pizzas ― hand tossed and thin-crusted ― with more gourmet toppings such as Pizza Vesuvio with salami, mozzarella, basil and garlic that is priced at 25,000 won ($21). Pizza Verde with basil pesto, ricotta, pistachio cream is priced at 28,000 won.
Other debut main dishes include Tagliolini with black truffle and parmesan cheese, and Cotoletta Alla Milanese with breaded veal chop.
There will also be new dessert additions including mascarpone tiramisu with strawberries, cannoli with sweet ricotta and pistachio, and Amalfi which includes lemon cake, sherbet and limoncello.
The new menu items pick up on current culinary trends in Italian cuisine from around the world, and are an exciting way for Il Ponte diners to experience unparalleled Italian food in Seoul.
InterContinental introduces vegan wine
Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas introduces vegan wine, one of the eco-friendly wine types that are increasingly gaining attention these days, for the first time in the industry.
It was announced that the wine paired with a French-style vegan menu jointly developed by the hotel's head sommelier and chef will be available at the Lobby Lounge & Bar on the first floor from March 1 until the end of June.
Being well-known as eco-friendly, vegan wine, as with natural wine and organic wine, is made with minimal artificial intervention throughout the whole process, including grape farming, fermentation, aging and brewing.
It is completely free from animal ingredients during cultivation and production.
Having organized this promotion, head sommelier Yoo Seung-min said the hotel decided to introduce vegan wine to pursue the eco-friendly consumption trend that excludes artificial elements and to satisfy guests' demands for new types of wine.
A vegan fare menu will be paired with the vegan wines to enhance the wine's flavor.
The promotion includes six types of vegan champagne certified as being vegan in 2017 from Champagne Legret, a winery that has produced champagne for four generations in France
The promotion also includes two types of vegan wines from eminent winemaker Gerard Bertrand, which succeeded in producing wine by a biodynamic farming method with medicinal plants for the first time in southern France.
Unique and creative vegan dishes will also please diners' taste buds. The dishes include French Provence-style vegetable stew ratatouille, garnished with flavorful garlic baguette; Egyptian croquette falafel made from roasted vegetables seasoned with exotic herb marjoram mixed with chopped herbs and onions; and onion tomato basil tart baked using melted vegan parmesan cheese.
Seoul Dragon City presents premium strawberry buffet
The Seoul Dragon City is presenting a premium strawberry buffet offering unlimited sparkling wine and strawberry desserts at its lounge bar, King's Vacation, located on the 31st floor of the hotel.
The buffet that will hold a “no kids zone” will offer 15 kinds of strawberry desserts made by professional patissiers, including strawberry crepe cake and strawberry roll.
The buffet is priced at 55,000 won per person, and will take place every weekend from Feb. 29 to April 25.
“As popularity of strawberry buffets has grown, we have prepared the premium strawberry buffet that also includes unlimited sparkling wine,” a Seoul Dragon City official said. “Visitors will also be able to enjoy a breathtaking view of Seoul on the 31st floor of the hotel.”
The hotel is also planning to hold various events along with the buffet, including a hashtag event via social media services.
