With the year-end and New Year’s parties over, it’s time to disconnect and recharge.
For those who want to remain at least partly connected by technology, take a look at the rooms on the executive floor of the Grand Ambassador Seoul Associated with Pullman.
The hotel’s internet of things (IoT) package offers all the comfort and relaxation you could possibly imagine.
Scan QR code

The service starts by scanning the QR code on the room wall. If you don’t have a scanner app, you can download it onto your smartphone or tablet.
With the downloaded application, you can control almost everything you see in the room, ranging from curtains to ordering an extra pillow for the night.
Also, you can control the television with smartphone, and lights and lamps scattered across the room, probably the most convenient feature of all.
If you simply click “Deep Sleep” or “Release Stress,” lights go up and curtains close automatically to create a pre-arranged mood.
Food to relax
The IoT package offers a variety of late-night snacks, both light and heavy, that would help you relax. What makes this even more wonderful is the dishes are delivered to your room and you don’t have to pay anything for some dishes _ the hotel gives a 50,000 won voucher for late-night snacks.
Dishes you don’t have to pay extra for are seared salmon fillet with half lemon, steamed broccoli, onion, pine nuts and raisins served with a ginger and green vegetable juice; a baked fillet of seabass crusted with almonds, lemon and spinach served with aloe, berries and beet juice.
If you want lighter snacks, options are avocado and dark green salad with toasted nuts and plain yogurt; oatmeal with plain soy milk and banana slices; and banana milk with cinnamon served with walnuts and whole wheat toast.
Hot shower
A shower always helps with rest. There’s nothing IoT about its shower devices but the bathroom is spacious enough to house a shower cabin and bathtub, and shower amenities will also help you feel more relaxed. Take your pick and relax.
Gym/swimming pool
The hotel’s gym and indoor swimming pool are free for IoT package guests. You don’t need an outfit for the gym, which provides shirts, pants and shoes. But you need your own swimming suit.
The swimming pool is far from busy which means you can do whatever you want and take your time. The gym is more crowded than the pool as it is also open to non-hotel guest members but it’s manageable. The hotel also has a sauna close to the swimming pool and the gym.
Executive privileges
IoT package guests can enjoy privileges that are usually available in the hotel’s 74 executive rooms. The executive lounge is where guests can enjoy between-meal snacks and drinks. The lounge also offers a breakfast which is only open to executive room guests, making the atmosphere more private and quiet. A hotel chef fries eggs for you.
Why Grand Ambassador Seoul
The hotel’s lobby
The Grand Ambassador is one of Seoul’s most prestigious hotels. As part of the French Accor brand, the current facility opened in 1978 with 431 rooms. The Grand Ambassador is what people choose for dining experiences. The Michelin Guide Seoul recommended its Chinese restaurant Hong Bo Gak, and its Japanese restaurant Sushi Hyo is also a coveted place among local diners.
The hotel is close to touristic destinations. The hotel is located at the foot of Mt. Nam and the shuttle that takes people to the peak stops right in front of the hotel. A big fashion market at Dongdaemun is within walking distance of the hotel and so is the National Theater. And in the neighborhood are restaurants for boiled pork feet.
The IoT package costs 235,400 won, excluding tax and service fees. The hotel also offers two free tickets to “ALICE: into the Rabbit Hole,” an interactive exhibition taking place in eastern Seoul, as a complimentary gift.
