Wonderful time for strawberries

Winter still has a long way to go, but strawberries are already all over Seoul and Incheon shops, supermarkets and hotel restaurants, which are rolling out promotions inspired by the seasonal fruit.

Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel

Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel’s strawberry-themed dessert buffet is available from Friday to Sunday and on holidays at signature Lobby Lounge Bar until May 31.

Indulge in a wide array of dishes made with strawberries: desserts such as tarts, parfaits, mille-feuille, tiramisu, cake rolls, chocolates, cobbler and cakes; appetizers and entrees such as salads, burgers, tacos, kimbab and teokbokki; and coffee, tea and cocktails.

The hotel offers the buffet three times a day: 12:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m., 3 p.m.-5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. It costs 44,000 won per person, including tax, and includes a complimentary a glass of strawberry sangria. Reservation is required. For more information call (02) 2211-1740.

Banyan Tree Club & Spa

Banyan Tree Club & Spa is presenting a strawberry-inspired menu promotion until March 26 at Granum Dining Lounge.

The menu features 30 strawberry-based desserts, including ganache macaron, Mont Blanc, eclairs and choux made with whipped cream and cream cheese, castellan rolls, red velvet cupcakes and yogurt panna cotta.

In addition to the promotional menu, guests can also order from the regular menu, which includes mini-burgers, sweet and sour pork, chicken pies, lentil salad and tortilla pizza on the side.

The promotional buffet is available on weekends and public holidays and served twice a day: noon-1:40 p.m. and 2-3:40 p.m. It costs 55,000 won per person, including tax. For more information and reservations, call (02) 2250-8143.

Sheraton Grand Incheon

Sheraton Grand Incheon is offering a strawberry promotion that will enrich your day. You can have lunch, followed by a strawberry dessert, before leaving to explore the rising tourist destination of Songdo.

Available until April 30, the promotional menu features pies, cream cheese tarts, mud cakes, tiramisu, graham strawberry sandwiches and salads, as well as the popular strawberry mascarphone cream, all served with a cup of coffee or tea.

The promotion is available during weekends, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bb at the lobby. It costs 39,000 won per person, with a discount available to Sheraton members. For more information and reservations, call (032) 835-1712/3.

JW Marriott Seoul

JW Marriott Seoul’s strawberry promotional menu features dacquoise, garaetteok with strawberry puree, croissants, opera cake, financiers, siphon cake and strawberry Romanoff, a dessert made of marinated strawberries.

In addition to the promotional desserts, guests can also order the hotel’s best-selling dishes — strawberry pasta, crepes and brioche toast. The promotion, available until April 30, costs 56,000 won per person on weekends and 39,000 won on weekdays.

InterContinental Hotel

InterContinental Hotel is offering a strawberry-inspired promotion at three of its venues — the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas’s lobby and InterContinental Seoul COEX’s lobby and Sky Lounge.

Available until April 16, the promotional menu includes strawberry waffles, flambe, cotton candy, churros, tiramisu, crumble glutinous rice choux and pizza.

In January and February, guests who make reservations through KakaoTalk will get a discount.

The hotel is also giving away restaurant and room vouchers, diffusers, perfumes and travel kits to promotion guests who post their pictures on the hotel’s Facebook pages: www.facebook.com/grandicparnas and www.facebook.com/iccoex.
