3 hotel restaurants receive Michelin stars

Three hotel restaurants - The Shilla Seoul’s Korean restaurant La Yeon, Lotte Hotel Seoul’s French restaurant Pierre Gagnaire and Four Seasons Hotel Seoul’s Chinese restaurant Yu Yuan - were among the 24 that received Michelin stars earlier this week.
According to the Michelin Guide, La Yeon received three stars, the most that a restaurant can receive, while Pierre Gagnaire got two stars and Yu Yuan one star.
“La Yeon’s recognition is a testament to The Shilla’s long-standing commitment to quality and exemplary services,” the hotel said in a statement.
“We’re committed to creating authentic Cantonese and regional dishes which make us unique in the city, and it’s a great honor to have our efforts be recognized in this remarkable way, especially because it is the first Michelin Guide in Korea and we are just a year old,” Four Seasons Hotel said in a statement.
The Pierre Gagnaire restaurant in Paris already has a Michelin star. The French chef after whom the restaurant is named flies to Korea twice a year for a cooking show.
