Are you thinking about traveling to Busan, for business or leisure?
If so, you’re in luck. Citadines Haeundae Busan, an international serviced residence brand, is scheduled to open on Aug. 15, widening your choice of accommodations in the nation’s most popular beach town.
Citadines Haeundae is a brand of Singapore-based The Ascott Limited, the world’s largest serviced residence owner-operator.
The apartment’s facilities are what distinguish it from competitors in the city. Each of its apartments has a fully-equipped kitchen with glassware, crockery, cutlery and other utensils, a refrigerator, rice cooker, electric kettle and toaster, making Citadines perfect for guests who do not always want to eat out. No other accommodation in the city offers a functional kitchen.
Each apartment is also equipped with multi-split type air conditioning and heating; a bathroom with a hairdryer, towels and toiletries; a bed with linen; an electronic safe; a steam iron and ironing board; a television with 45 satellite or cable channels; Wi-Fi and telephone with international direct dialing; and a children’s playroom. The property also has the breakfast lounge.

“Our Citadines brand is about savvy and vibrant living whilst giving choices to our guests. Our Citadines properties attract a diverse clientele but tend to cater more to couples and single travelers; however, a families are welcome,” said Max Philips, area manager for The Ascott Limited in Korea, during an interview with The Korea Times at Ascott property Somerset Palace in Seoul, Monday.
Citadines Haeundae has 468 apartments and seven apartment types: studio, studio deluxe, studio executive, one-bedroom deluxe, one-bedroom executive, one-bedroom premier and one-bedroom premier suite.
The 42-story serviced residence guarantees a stunning view of the beach, ocean and cityscape.
It is a five-minute walk from Haeundae Beach. Citadines Haeundae’s entrance is connected to Haeundae subway station. It is also surrounded by other entertainment destinations, including SEA LIFE Busan Aquarium. A CGV multi-screen cinema and retail shops are available on the lower floors of the property.
Citadines Haeundae is the first property and the second Ascott property in Korea.
“We feel it is the right time to strengthen our brands in the Korean market, and Busan has given us the opportunity to introduce our Citadines brand to Korea,” Philips said.
Despite Ascott’s traditional focus on long-term stay accommodations, Philips says the company is confident about its expansion in Korea. “We will be able to capture the leisure market as well as the mid to long stay corporate market.”
Busan, Korea’s second-largest port city, has booming energy and shipping industries, and draws business people from all over Korea and the world. Haeundae district in the city is a popular place to live in for expats and Citadines will be the first international serviced residences there.
The property will offer promotional rates until the end of December during weekdays, which will begin from 120,000 won per night.
