Grand Hyatt Incheon launches tasty events in the New Year. The “Restaurant 8” will present a year-long Restaurant 8 Journey where guests can experience a variety of cuisines from the East and West. Each month will have its own signature menu, peppered with cooking classes and chef’s table dinners. Restaurant 8 is well known for its unique dining concept featuring eight distinctive cuisines under one roof, including four Eastern and four Western kitchens. In January, the French Café will present a five-course gourmet dinner, featuring delicacies, including caviar, truffles and foie gras, paired with fine French wines. Lunch is available for 66,000 won, while dinner costs 88,000 won from Monday through Friday. In February, chefs from the Grill will present a traditional lunar New Year menu. The Chinese restaurant Yeohyang is presenting Sandong seasonal specials to help guests overcome the windy chill of winter. This promotion is available for lunch and dinner. The lunch set includes assorted seafood with bean curd and vegetables, sauteed sea cucumber with pine and black mushrooms, Sandong-style beef fillet and sauteed Chinese chives with seafood and steamed Chinese flower bun, or sauteed Chinese chives with beef slices and steamed Chinese flower bun. Birds nest soup with seafood and mushroom, braised “pei pa” bean curd and pine mushrooms with oyster sauce and steamed ding prawn with garlic will be added to the dinner set. For guests interested in trying more diverse dishes with Chinese chives, an a-la-carte menu is offered as well, including sautéed Chinese chives and sliced beef, sautéed Chinese chives and seafood, noodle soup with Chinese chives and oysters and noodle soup with Chinese chives and seafood. JW's Grill, a Western-style restaurant at the JW Marriott Hotel Seoul, presents two special set courses devised by executive chef Andreas Krampl. The first seasonal course consists of smoked salmon with horseradish sauce, endives salad with pear and blue cheese, cream of mushroom soup, crab with Béarnaise sauce, tenderloin steak with asparagus and chocolate cake for dessert. The Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel presents various desserts made with fresh strawberries at its 41st floor Lobby Lounge Bar. “All About Strawberries” is available from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday from Jan. 3, 2015. Guests can taste a wide variety of strawberry delights from fresh strawberry tart to chocolate strawberry tart, strawberry Madeleine, strawberry mille-feuille, strawberry crème brûlé, soft strawberry curd cream, strawberry meringue sandwich, macarons and chocolate fondue.
