Imperial Palace Seoul, celebrating its 25th anniversary, is offering a birthday Suite Package until Sept. 30.

The package offers customers the choice between a Duplex Suite resembling a European palace and a Corner Suite adorned with mahogany antiques.

It also includes a hair care gift certificate for “Cha Hong Ardor,” a tea set designed by Hankook Porcelain and a set of skincare products.

The package costs 450,000 won.

Besides exclusive gifts, it also includes free entrance to the Happy Hour bar, free Internet service, access to the sauna, fitness and indoor pool and Club Benefit including breakfast for two at Club Lounge.

Only 25 rooms are available, and will be served on a first-come-first-served basis. Customers are required to prove their residency in Korea.

Genji, the Millennium Seoul Hilton’s Japanese restaurant, presents a special two-month promotion showcasing eel, sea bass and croaker during the months of May and June.

Eel is believed to enhance beauty. Croaker is high in protein, low in carbohydrates, and contains significant amounts of vitamins B6 and B12 as well as Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. Sea bass is a good source of protein and is high in vitamin B6, magnesium and phosphorus.

Eel on top of rice costs 52,000 won; steamed eel with brown rice is 55,000 won; a grilled eel set is 69,000 won; croaker with vegetables in a hot pot is 98,000 won; grilled sea bass is 76,000 won; bass with vegetables in a hot pot is 79,000 won; and bass sashimi is 150,000 won.

Park Hyatt Seoul’s live entertainment bar presents a new vocalist and jazz pianist Tim Brockett until Sept. 11.

From New York City, Brockett is versatile playing the piano, Hammond organ, synthesizer, electric and acoustic guitars, saxophone, flute, clarinet, trumpet, contrabass and drums.

His resume is rich, having worked as a performer, a jazz consultant, a university lecturer, jazz ensemble director, a freelance writer for a magazine and radio advertisement producer.

His connection with the hotel chain began in 2001 when he started playing for Park Hyatt Saigon, Hilton Singapore, Nagoya Marriott, Ritz Carlton Osaka and the Park Hyatt Busan.

Brockett performs an extensive repertoire from jazz standards to bossanova.
