Enjoy warm, relaxed stay with winter deals

A freezing chill is gripping the nation. Taking a trip far from home is not a tempting proposition, especially when it is snowing.

What about staying at a hotel instead? Here are some options that will guarantee not only warmth but also comfort, entertainment and refreshment of the mind and body.

The Lotte Hotel Seoul presents three Winter Therapy Packages through the end of February.

The first package at 260,000 won is designed for those seeking peace and tranquility. It features a one-night stay in a superior room and an aroma tea set for two at Salon de The, a European-style library teahouse. It also includes a WoodWick candle made of eco-friendly natural essential oils to ease tension and two Lotte Cinema movie tickets.

Adding 30,000 won to the first package, the second one offers an upgrade to a deluxe room.

The third package at 380,000 won offers a one-night stay in a club deluxe room, club lounge privileges for two such as afternoon tea and cocktails, a Jurlique Spa massage voucher for two, a WoodWick candle, courtesy fruit and two movie tickets. For inquiries, call (02) 759-7311.

The hotel has partnered with Teddy Bear Museum to produce specially-made teddy bears bearing The Plaza’s logo. They can be purchased at the front desk or the hotel’s restaurants for 40,000 won through Feb. 28. The quantity is limited to 500. Proceeds will be donated to the Korean Business Council for the Arts and used in artistic education for less privileged children.

Those purchasing the Purple in Your Heart Winter Package will automatically participate in the campaign. The package offers a one-night stay in a deluxe room, the teddy bear, a 10 percent discount at restaurants and free use of the fitness center and pool. Asiana or Delta mileage can also be earned. The Oakwood Premier Coex Center Seoul is offering the City in the Night Package through Feb. 28.

It features a one-night stay, two cocktails or beers, breakfast for two, free Internet service, free use of the swimming pool, sauna, fitness center and golf range, and rental of two DVD movies.

The Imperial Palace Seoul presents a Winter Aroma Package until the end of February.

It features a bath product from British handmade cosmetics brand Lush, breakfast buffet for two, and free use of the indoor swimming pool and fitness center. It costs 220,000 won for a deluxe room, 280,000 won for a club deluxe room and 460,000 won for a duplex or corner suite. Guests taking a suite will be provided with a bottle of Moet & Chandon champagne, a seafood salad, French fries and assorted cheese as room service.

Those staying in club deluxe rooms or suites can enjoy club floor benefits including breakfast and happy hour drinks and snacks at the Club Imperial Lounge, the sauna and free Internet use.

At the Renaissance Seoul Hotel, three different packages are available through Feb. 28.

All of them include a one-night stay in a deluxe room, complimentary use of the indoor swimming pool and the Renaissance Recreation Center and a 50 percent discount on the sauna.

For those wanting an affordable deal, the Winter Savings Package starts from 179,000 won.

The Winter Getaway Package features a one-night stay in a deluxe room, breakfast for two at Cafe Elysee, a bottle of red wine, chocolate, free in-room Internet, one free in-room movie, a 20 percent discount coupon for the Trevi Lounge and a special winter cake. The price starts from 239,000 won.

The Winter Family Package offers free in-room Internet, one free in-room movie, breakfast for two at Cafe Elysee (two children under 12 can eat for free), one pepperoni pizza and soft drinks as room service, two takeaway hot chocolates, a cake and a Jenga game. Guests using the package can also receive a “kids eat free” benefit for up to two children if they have lunch or dinner at Cafe Elysee. The price starts from 259,000 won. The Ritz-Carlton, Seoul presents two offers until the end of February.

The Stay Warm Package includes a one-night stay at a superior deluxe room, complimentary use of the fitness club and indoor swimming pool, and a gift of two limited edition winter tumblers engraved with the hotel’s logo. It is priced at 265,000 won.

The Snow Country Package features a one-night stay in a superior deluxe room and a seven-course meal for two at Japanese restaurant Hanazono, which includes udon, sushi, sashimi and tempura, as well as a free warm sake or Sapporo beer when it snows. It also includes free use of the fitness center and swimming pool, and a lavender-scented candle that helps encourage a deep, relaxing sleep.

Guests of the second package will also be entered into a draw for prizes such as a round-trip flight to Sapporo, Japan, the country of which stunning winter scenery was described by Nobel Prize-winning author Yasunari Kawabata in his novel “Snow Country.” The package costs 390,000 won. At the Grand Hilton Seoul, four deals are on offer through Feb. 28.

Package I at 179,000 won offers a one-night stay in a deluxe room, a coupon for coffee for two at the Atrium Cafe, free use of the swimming pool and gym, and a copy of lifestyle magazine Maison. Package II at 199,000 won includes a one-night stay at a superior room and the same benefits as the first deal.

Designed for those looking for luxury, Package III at 339,000 won features a one-night stay at a junior suite, breakfast at the executive floor lounge and happy hour benefits there, as well as free access to the sauna.

The Winter Love Story Package at 249,000 won offers a one-night stay in an executive room, breakfast and happy hour benefits at the executive lounge, a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve red wine and free use of the swimming pool, gym and sauna. For more information, call (02) 2287-8400.

The Conrad Seoul is running an Any Weekend, Anywhere promotion.

While bookings are available through Feb. 14, the promotion is eligible for stays made through the end of year. Up to a 25 percent discount on rates is offered to guests, and members of the Hilton HHonors program will enjoy double reward points for stays of two or more nights.
