Holiday Events at Amusement Parks

With the Christmas season finally right around the corner, it's about time to decide where to go and what to do. Amusements parks can be a great place to take the kids and are popular with couples and the parks are preparing some special extras for the season.

Lotte World in Jamsil

Lotte World in Jamsil is currently offering a ``2007 Happy Christmas Party.'' They have set up several 20-meter Christmas trees around the park, making it a great location to take Christmas pictures with the family. The park has also prepared several shows and events to take place both inside and outside the park. The ``Cinderella Christmas Party'' is a musical show where fairies fly and Cinderella performs magic on stage. Various bands and even rock groups will perform carols to raise holiday spirits. The ``Christmas Fantasy Parade'' will be held twice a day, with more than a hundred cast members dancing and celebrating with guests. Snow machines will create a snowy atmosphere throughout the parades. People will also get to a see a Lotte World special ``Ice Rink Band Show,'' at the ice rink located in the indoor park. The festival has been ongoing since Nov. 10 and will run through Dec. 25.

Seoul Land

Seoul Land, located in Gwacheon, on the outskirts of Seoul, is currently offering a festival under the theme, ``Snow Factory.'' As guests arrive at the front gate snowmen representing various countries greet them. There are events where guests can take pictures with Santa Claus and Rudolph, and try on Santa's clothes. There is also a stage event where guests get to show their talents. They can also go try the sleigh ride located near the park and experience a speedy snow ride. The park has also arranged ``hot zones'' where guests can sneak in and avoid the snow and chilly wind. From Dec. 22-25, there will be a fireworks show beginning at 6 p.m. The festival will continue through Dec. 25.

Everland

Located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, Everland is currently offering their winter festival, ``Christmas Holiday Fantasy.'' Part of the festival will feature a special theme for couples, the ``Romantic Christmas,'' which will be a great way to spend the holidays with a special someone. The park has a ``Magic Garden'' that consists of more than five hundred mini Christmas trees. Guests can really feel the holiday spirit when the sun goes down and the amusement park is lit up. Everland's famous parade will once again feature various colorful Christmas theme performances. For those who want to participate, they can simply register their name and a date on Everland's Web site. Before leaving, guests can finally finish their Christmas journey by watching the ``Magic in the Sky'' event with colorful lasers and fireworks.

Tickets range from 24,000 won (admission only) to 34,000 won (which includes admission and a free pass for all the rides) for adults and 18,000 won to 25,000 won for kids at Lotte World. Tickets at Seoul Land cost 15,000 won (admission only) to 28,000 won (admission plus free pass for rides) for adults and 10,000 won to 21,000 won for children. At Everland, tickets range from 28,000 won (admission only) to 35,000 won (admission plus free pass for rides) for adults and 21,000 won to 26, 000 won for children at Everland.
