Korea Times names content managing director, new managing editor

The Korea Times appointed Kim Jae-kyoung, 50, as content managing director, Thursday. The daily also named Kim Rahn, 44, as its new managing editor.
Kim, managing director of the Content Division, newly established to enhance content strategy and business, joined the newspaper in 2000 and has worked as managing editor since 2020.
He received a bachelor's degree in journalism at Sungkyunkwan University and earned an MBA at the Schulich School of Business of York University in Canada.
New managing editor Kim, who will be in charge of the newsroom, joined the daily in 2003 and has worked as editor of the city desk, politics desk and K-culture desk since 2015. She was the News Division head since February.
She received a bachelor’s degree in aesthetics at Seoul National University.
As to her role in the new post, Kim said she will focus on upgrading quality of content, and select major topics to delve deeper into. She also seeks to revamp the newspaper’s website to advance the digitalization of The Korea Times.
