Sportstoto, operated by Sportstoto Korea on behalf of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, has evolved significantly since its inception in 2001.
Initially launched to fund the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup and enhance domestic sports, it now represents a sustainable model, having generated approximately 17.4 trillion won from 2001 to 2022. These proceeds directly contribute to the National Sports Promotion Fund, instrumental in promoting daily sports, professional sports and sports welfare for all citizens.
The journey of Sportstoto reflects a commitment to transform the perception of sports betting from mere gambling to a healthy leisure activity. Efforts to distinguish legal sports betting from illegal alternatives have been relentless. Annual health campaigns, gambling addiction prevention initiatives and education for store owners underline Sportstoto's dedication to responsible betting.
