Popular K-pop boy band 2PM’s main vocalist JUN. K will digitally release his first solo studio album in Korea titled “Mr. NO♡” on Aug. 9. He will reveal his collaboration with singer-songwriter Baek A-yeon and rapper San E in this album.
Prior to releasing the full album consisting of eight tracks, JUN. K first opened “Don’t Go” in collaboration with Baek, Monday, which quickly climbed the Mnet music chart to the top spot upon release. The song is a remake version of the original sound track of the same song written for the 2011 KBS drama “Dream High.” Singer Lim Jeong-hee sang a duet with JUN. K back then.
The JYP Entertainment musician participated in composing and writing lyrics for all of the songs for the new album. The title track “THINK ABOUT YOU” is co-written by producer BOYTOY, and hip-hop song “NO LOVE Part 2” features San E. Other songs in the album include “Mr. NO♡,” “SURFING,” “BETTER MAN,” “YOUNG FOREVER” and “My House.”
“My House” is an acoustic remake of the song originally presented in JUN. K’s group 2PM’s fifth album.
“JUN. K demonstrated his ability as a producer in this album. He played the instruments, wrote the songs and arranged them. He is also involved in making choreography and directing stage performances with dancers,” said JYP Entertainment in a statement.
The singer began producing songs in 2009, when he presented his brainchild “Hot” for the first time as a soloist. 2PM later recorded the song for their second studio album “Hands Up” in 2011.
In 2014, JUN. K released his first Japanese solo album “Love & Hate” and held a concert tour there which was named as one of the top 10 best concerts in Japan that year by Ranking Box.
A year later, he revealed his second Japanese solo “Love Letter” that instantly topped the Oricon daily album chart and Japan’s Billboard chart for top album sales.
The physical release of JUN. K’s new studio album is set on Aug. 11.
