JTI names new president

Tobacco company JTI Korea named Steve R. Dyer as its new general manager, the company said Wednesday. He will lead the company from Feb. 1.
He previously served as general manger of JTI Singapore. Born in South Africa, he joined the company in 1997 and has since worked in various positions at the firm’s units in countries, including Tanzania, Switzerland, Russia and Hong Kong.
Dyer is highly experienced in human resources management, the company said, adding he has implemented various programs designed to nurture creative and innovative employees.
“I will tap into my past experiences in the Asia Pacific region and strive to grow JTI Korea as a respected company,” he was quoted as saying in an English-written press release. “The new competitive environment and challenges posed to us in 2015 will become special opportunities for JTI Korea to take a new leap forward.”
